Our Impact / Environment and Climate
We don’t shy away from environmental risks or impacts. We consider this business responsibility and face them head‑on with practical action today and long‑term thinking for tomorrow.
These are the actions we take to improve our environmental impact.
Energy efficiency is one of our biggest opportunities. Building Management System helps us operate restaurants efficiently. Photovoltaic panels at drive-thru locations is now a Rex standard.
Through our partnership with Charge Europa, we’re transforming Burger King locations into modern hubs for EV charging and supporting the transition to cleaner mobility.
As of 2025, we have fully eliminated palm oil from our frying process to reduce biodiversity impacts of our business in the upstream section of our value chain.
Working with our suppliers we aim to improve the composition and recyclability of our packaging. Used frying oil from our restaurants is fully recycled into biofuel.
Rex is setting 2025 as the base year for carbon footprint reduction and developing a comprehensive decarbonization plan that will address key emission categories.
In 2026, we will introduce a data‑driven Sustainability Strategy that sets clear priorities and actions across our material impacts, risks, and opportunities.
