2021
In 2021, the company’s two founders, Olgierd (Olo) Danielewicz and Peter Kaineder, former Chief Operating Officer and former Chief Strategy Officer at AmRest, after years of experience scaling one of Europe’s most successful restaurant groups shared a conviction that Central and Eastern Europe offered a unique combination of structural growth tailwinds, an underpenetrated QSR market, and strong consumer demand for globally recognized brands.

2022
Rex Concepts was established in September 2022 after the founders secured regional master franchise agreements with Restaurant Brands International for Burger King and Popeyes across Central and Eastern Europe, partnered with Henry McGovern and Steve K. Winegar through McWin. In 2022 Rex acquired a portfolio of 20 Burger King restaurants in Poland. As a Burger King master franchisee the company also had in its ecosystem 97 restaurants operated by other franchisors.

2023
In September 2023, Rex Concepts further strengthened its footprint through the acquisition of Popeyes master franchisee and operator in Romania, completing its presence across Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania, and establishing a multi-brand, multi-market platform focused on two of the most compelling global QSR brands. In the same year, the group opened the first Popeyes restaurant in Poland and the Czech Republic.

2024 - 2025
Since inception, Rex Concepts has scaled at exceptional speed. From 20 restaurants at launch and 57 at end-2023, the Group came to a milestone of 100 restaurants already at the end of 2024. In 2025 the growth accelerated further with 59 openings reaching a total of 159 restaurants as of December 2025. This rapid expansion positions Rex Concepts among the fastest-growing foodservice platforms in Europe.

2026
Rex Concepts combines iconic global brands, disciplined operational execution, advanced technology and a strong people-first culture.
